Aw, shucks...t'warnt nuthin....
When do I get to shoot it...huh? :hmm:
A fine job, if I ever saw one....it's a gun I'd be proud to own! :v

Frank, his home internet has been down a while. I'll give him a heads-up tomorrow about your post. Any questions in particular?

Well since Pete is not here I'll ask the question what is he going to shoot in it powder wise? :)

Great work! I'll be starting one in the spring. I hope it comes out looking that good! :hatsoff:

Frank,I don't think drop dead gorgeous are the words I would use; but for my first kit it looks good.
Lymans GP kit from mid-south shooting supply.50 cal with the 1/60 twist.I sanded the wood down to be flush with all the hard wear.Plenty of extra wood.Win wax dark walnut stain with 10 coats of hand rubber Tung oil.All the hard wear is rust blued, except the four escutcheons, forend cap and the rod entry pipe.I bought some special chemicals that made them look antique pewter. This process took only four minutes, were other processes like lemon juice, vinegar etc.would take days.Applied another chemical to stop the rusting.Afterwards I gave them a good coat of paste wax.

The back screw on the tang was drilled at the wrong angle, so I filled in the hole and drilled it at the proper angle.

Finished the Gun in mid November. When I get a day in Northern Illinois were when I can walk outside without the barrel sticking to my hand I will start shooting.

As for what powder I will be working with, that depends on what my gun likes.I have a pretty good idea of what I will be starting with; but I won't be saying here. Captainkirk opened a can of worms with that question last week, so lets not go their again.Any other questions let me know.

Thanks for the comment on the Gun.
