I'm just busting at the seams to tell someone, so here goes.

Last night, I finally got my first muzzleloader - a Great Plains Rifle in .54 caliber. It is a thing of beauty.

I should have a Traditions Crockett .32 caliber delivered either today or tomorrow.

When I decide to get into something, I spend a lot of time researching and then pull the trigger bigtime. I take the following quote to heart: "Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in."
President Andrew Jackson

That expensive keyboard I bought my wife for Christmas is really paying off now.

It may be next week before I get to do any shooting, but one thing at a time.

Congratulations on your choices, and for getting into a great sport. I think you will be happy with both the GPR and the Crockett. All of them that i have owned were very accurate shooters. Have fun and be safe.

Dadof8, Congratulations! This is one addiction that you will never regret.

Congrats on the New Guns! I own both of these and I like both of them very much. The GPR is said to be an entry level rifle, but its quality and accuracy makes it stay around a very long time to a lot of folks who've bought one. Along with that, the Trad. Crockett is just a pleasure to shoot and easy on the pocket. Never had a problem with accuracy with the Crockett either. I think you've chosen well.

"GO FORTH AND MAKE SMOKE" (I think that should be in the Bible somewhere!)

Speaking of Crockett .... I think a saying that was attributed to Mr. David Crockett was, "Make sure you're right, then go ahead." Maybe A. Jackson paraphrased him, eh? :hmm:
Congrats on the new possessions - do a lot of reading, then enjoy your new sport.

IM jaybe
