Having to fix or restore to use adjustable rear sight on target pistols for myself and others, I thought I`d share some tech here. Pedersoli (Le Page, etc.) repos are set up at the factory to not adjust from he the top screw as did the originals. The euro-type match shooter is expected to disassemble his pistol to adjust the sights This is in deference to euro-type match rules. NMLRA / NRA rules do not require this adulteration to your pistol. Original target pistols may have problems due to congealed oil, grease etc. preventing ease of adjustment. Removing the barrel and tang you will find a screw with a nut blocking you sights movement on the Pedersoli. Remove the screw and nut that is attached to your sight. Replace screw if needed and add a ball point pen spring over screw for good return. You may have to replace the screw. You may have to smooth the contact point between the sight and the slot in the tang it must move through. Tiny files worked fine. Only the Pedersoli Cook pistol required extra fitting. After this you have full elevation movement with good return due to the added spring. NMLRA / NRA match rules only require wax or paint over the adjust screw for no adjust during a match.
