A great hunt as usual and a beautiful bird. The last pheasant I saw, believe it or not, was in a cow pasture back down in Georgia. That was quite a few years ago.

Me too. I miss pheasant hunting. Back when NYS really cared about hunters there was a stocking program and we had a pretty good crop of birds. We had a great time walking the grass fields and could put them up without a dog. The sudden cackle of a rising ringneck was quite exciting. I still see birds occasionally but there are not enough to make hunting worthwhile.
 
Thank you for sharing your hunt with us. The photo you shared of that ringneck brought back many good memories of my youth when my dad and I would hunt pheasant in the corn and sugar beet fields in southern Idaho. Good times...
 
There are pheasants everywhere this year. I shot a lot of fox last winter. I have some wild stock but also it looks like a lot have walked off the two local shoots onto me....I ain't complaining.
