Flint and roosters.

Nothing exciting but nursing a virus I dosed up and headed out for a late afternoon bird or two.
My first shot was a hen. Instant ignition but I missed.
Second bird I had stalked and I got a miss fire, and again and again. If nothing else the bird by now shoved his head high wondering what the heck.....boom .

I knapped the flint and reloaded. Normal service was resumed and instant ignition got me a second bird.

I have no idea what the load was. Probably an ounce plus. No cushion wad bull and the very dusty powder at 3/4 the volume.
