I bought a Pedersoli "KY Rifle" kit from Dixie Gun Works. I was raised thinking to only use leather so I thought it was interesting that the lock came with a flint wrapped in lead. I guess "When in Rome............"

Does it not occur to you that the people that make and market this thing have probably never shot a FL in their lives? Or if they have it was just a demo of some sort?
They may be basing the lead wrap on what the military did at some point.

Besides, Pedersoli is based out of Brescia, Italy which is quite a ways from Rome by European standards. :wink:
