I was testing my new Bess lock with the proper sized flints and discovered that the flint is striking too high on the frizzen. As a result I'm not getting too many sparks in the pan.
I'm sure the frizzen is hard enough as I've tested with smaller flints and gotten a good shower of sparks.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thank you, Kevin :hatsoff:

shorten the flint by creating a groove (also in teh leather) in the back where it will fit around the cock screw, and it should hit lower.
