Nice. 20 guage too. You can stuff a big bullet down the barrels or use buck shot or bird shot if you want to. I like it.

They made double barrel pistols almost as soon as the first single shot pistols were being made way back then. So yes flintlock doubles were legit from way back then.

The flintlock is a rather hefty pistol, a hand full if using one hand. Compared to the percussion it weighs quite a bit more too. The flintlock is more of a novelty than anything else, and for bragging rights I guess. At $1500 bucks you might want to think twice before buying one. I didn’t do that…. so shame on me!!

I'm a big fan of the idea of a Kibler pistol; I tend to think it would be a classic flint PA/KY type; hey, Jim, how's about a Flint-to-Percussion one? Interchangable!-

I too would like to see a Kibler Flint pistol. (Partly so we would have a top end pistol lock available.) He has a lot of models out now consuming CNC time, and I imagine that the cost difference in a pistol kit Vs the rifle/fowler kits would be small. That might be a choke point for some buyers.

I preordered one before they released in the US by ordering through an importer. Might be because I received an earlier version, but the right trigger for the right barrel was about ~15lb to pull. I took it to a gunsmith and he was able to get it to a reasonable trigger pull. Right after buying this one, I bought the full length SxS flintlock by Pedersoli as well, and the right trigger had the same issues until it was fixed too.

Otherwise, it’s a fun gun. On the heavy side, but helps some with recoil. You’ll be limited on holster options if you ever decide to go that route. I’ve seen some customs ones made that looked great, but never could find any for sale that didn’t look cheap.

I've always thought a brace of Howdahs loaded with #7s and draped across the Cub Cadet in saddle holsters would make excellent lawnmower snake dispatchers!

There would certainly be less cost on the mfgr. side because of the wood sourcing. That's something, anyway; a semi-custom pistol from Jim, with his established reputation and quality product would be a good seller, nevertheless.

1,700 to 1,800 fps in a rifle. Depends on a LOT of factors. A .45 might get up to 2,200 fps with a LOT of powder.

From a pistol? Maybe 800 fps to 1,000 fps. Black powder is a very slow burning powder and needs a long barrel to get up a head of steam.

I shoot AA batteries out of mine.
