Flintlock w/burly maple stock

I recently got this at a local show. I was drawn to the wood's figuring and knew the brass would compliment the wood once polished.

I don't know who E. J. Sewell was, but it appears this was made in 1949, and quite possibly never fired.

Who ever EJ was he made what looks to be an honest gun and I’d say he made everything himself, possibly even the barrel, a pistol like that is a collector’s piece of the future (even of the right now).
