Sorry I missed you Pletch, altho we have already met a couple of times.
The members who are there next weekend are planning to meet up again.

This past Saturday there were a few of us who got together. Trent/OH, Tecum-tha, grzrob, Blockhouse Ben(and his whole family), and myself met up on the front porch of Gunmakers Hall. We had some interesting conversations. I'm glad to have met every one of them. :hatsoff:
I also ran into Trench just before he had to leave. And bumped into Dixie at the barn dance. Good to see you guys too.

Sunday morning grzrob, tecum-tha, Silex, and I met up at the woodswalk shack for the very first Muzzleloadingforum Members' Friendship Woodswalk Shoot. I had hoped more members would attend but the 4 of us had a good time. Silex brought with him a traveling trophy plate for the shoot and donated it. Thanks Silex! :hatsoff:
He also brought along his signalling horn and blew signals for the start and finish of the woodswalk and another when he presented me with the trophy. Yep, yours truly had the best score so the trophy plate gets to hang on my wall first.
I will take it in and have it engraved as requested and then I'll post a picture of it here.

At the September shoot someone else will get to take it home with them and hang it on their wall. ...if they can out-shoot me that is.

I'll have to make a point to spend the night next time. Looking forward to that woodswalk!

what time were you guys at the porch i came Saturday for a couple hours didn't see any of you guys

The arranged time was 8:00pm to 9:00pm but I sat there from @ 7:20 in case someone showed up early. Grizz was there by a quarter to 8. Trent and tecum-tha got there shortly after and Blockhouse Ben and his family were just a little behind them.
We hung around and talked until well after 9:00.

Many Klatch and grzrob are supposed to be there this coming Saturday from 8-9pm also. Any members who will be at Friendship this Saturday should try and meet up on the porch. Many Klatch and Grizz are good company.
Wish I could be there, but I had to come back to work. :surrender:

ahh just missed you i guess. we got there at around 2:00 and left at about 7:00. If i could get the money i'd ride for a few hours in the back of the mustang (not very comfy when your 6 ft)to go again this weekend i love it down there

Yeah, unfortunately I missed the meeting on Saturday but it sure was fun to meet Jethro, Grizz and tecum-tha at the woodswalk. We had a nice three hours there.

Wish I could go back this weekend - but it won't work out...

Silex

Silex, I hope you can make it back to Friendship next time. :hatsoff: Was fun shooting with you. You'll have that new smoothie all dialed in by next time.

Jethro Couldn't find you Sat. a.m. BTW don't cellebrate the highest score in woodswalk yet! I posted a 15 hit stroll in the woods wed. a.m. 2009 17hits....2010 17hits...2011 17hits. :blah:

That's some good shootin' MB. :hatsoff: Next time be sure and be there for the Forum Get Together Woodswalk and you'll take home the traveling trophy.
September shoot. First Sunday. 9:00am. Be at the shack!

Saturday morning I was either getting my shooters registration or up at the primitive range... or somewhere in between...
Sorry I missed you.

Darn it, I must had a real bad day sunday morning on the woodswalk. I was shooting yesterday evening with the Jaeger rifle at a human silhouette target and from 25-70 yards offhand I had most hits in the nine ring or better. The nine ring is about 2 hands big...
I have no idea what went so wrong. Boy, I have to do much more offhand shooting. My sights need really only minor correction and I have no idea how I could miss that buffalo target...
Well, the Defense of Fort Greenville Video will hopefully be uploaded today...

Because you are a good sportsman.

The buffalo was just simply too big for you - recall you were the only one to hit that tiny gong at 70 yards... :hatsoff:

just pulling your leg...

Next time...

Silex

Yes, that was odd. Especially with the flip up sight. I was shooting the 70 yards without the flip up sight in the backyard and was doing fine.
I also changed some patching and tried the wrapped roundball. I was very surprised how good that one worked at 25 yards.

Here's the traveling trophy plate which was generously donated by our member Silex for the Muzzleloadingforum.com Friendship Woodswalk.

I had it engraved as requested and will bring it to the Fall shoot at Friendship to be passed on to the next winner. Forum members who wish to participate should meet at the woodswalk shack at 9:00 am on the first Sunday of the Fall shoot. Bring your traditional muzzleloading firearm. We will go thru as a group. High score wins! The winner gets to take the plate home, have his screen name engraved in the appropriate place, and keep it until the Spring shoot where it will be again passed along to the next winner. (In case the winner cannot be at the next shoot he will mail the trophy to the next winner.)
I hope to see a bunch of members there! :hatsoff:

Good job on the engraving!
Now you'll have to defend it in fall

Silex

Will you be able to be there to blow the signal horn again?
That was cool!
Maybe you will be the next winner. :)

We'll see.

I can't say, yet. Actually, I would love to come I had such a good time.

It was my pleasure! Love to make some noise once in a while...

Really nice relaxed way of competing against fellow forum members, just whish I had hit twice instead of only once ... :rotf:
