Found a 40 caliber

I finally joined the ranks of the 40 club. It is a full stock rifle with a 34” x 7/8” Goodoien barrel. It has an L&R Durs Egg lock and target triggers by Dru Hedgecock. The rifle was engraved by Mike Roby.

I got it out to the range today and started some load work. It seems to shoot anything I put down the barrel fairly well.

For today, the best load was 40 gr Swiss 3F, .389 ball, and .018” pillow ticking lubed with mink oil.

I think she’s a keeper!

For today, the best load was 40 gr Swiss 3F, .389 ball, and .018” pillow ticking lubed with mink oil. That same load was super accurate in my .40.

Sorry. I thought I did. This was only 25 yards - and from the bench. I was just trying to get an idea for what load shot well.

By the way, @AZ Muzzleloaders had a part in this as well. He and Mike work together. I heartily recommend both gentlemen. They are honest and good folks.
