A French styled common belt knife with a 6" distal tapered blade of 01 steel. Brass front plate, and steel butt cap. A though tang design with the tang peened over the cap. Grip is of turned boxwood with an oil type finish. Sheath is another vinegaroon stained center seam type with the cuir bouilli hardening treatment. Hope you enjoy a look.

Wick! With all due respect!
If it is a sheepsfoot knife, shouldn't the sheath be made from sheep skin? :haha:
Looks good!! :hatsoff:

You have a point there, and I'll see to it that you get another. :hmm: I gotta talk to your wife.

Why does your photos not do your knife justice and lonehunters photos makes his look better? Looks great!  :haha: :haha:

Yes! You should and did. Thanks Kenny. Seriously, I appreciate it. Thanks again. I try to always do my best. Sometimes, that is not enough, but I do try.

Terrific knife, Wick. I could study the shape of both the blade and handle for hours, as I learn something new every time you post a picture of your work. And, then to the sheaths.......

Darn Wick..........here I made my kinda poor example of one of your sheaths and you 'up and make another' great one!
Looks really nice Wick!

Nice, love the lines, looks like it'd be comfortable to use. What do you line the sheath with, if anything?

Great work.

Thanks Blademaker. No lining. Just form fitted and heat hardened. A simple utilitarian sheath. The knife is very light and feels good in the hand. I personally have never liked sheepsfoot blades all that much. Maybe because I haven't used them enough, but it seems that some folks love them.

Macon, if you will notice, I also got a small bump in the leather, in the same area that you did. I think I am going to have to trim my pattern a tad in that zone.
