Frizzen half sole, long time ago

Back in the 70s or 80s. there was a material out to half sole a frizzen, The NMLA said it gave an undo advantage?

I'm thinking deactivated titanium or something like that?

Is it still available?

I had an old Dixie lock resoled and the builder used band saw blade. Works great.
