frozen nipple and proof load question.

I'm getting this percussion sxs back into shooting shape and I've decided to remotely proof the barrel by way of fusing powder through the nipples (or whats left of them)and a model rocket igniter, so I can be a good ways away and because I dont have any fuse. What kind of proof load should I consider, in the field I won't shoot heavier loads than 80grns of 2f and an equal amount of shot. I was thinking the same amount of shot and 100grn of powder. Second I'm having a heck of a time getting the nipples out, I've already shattered the top part and I can't manage to get them to budge, any tricks, I have the barrels soaking in clp right now.

use a double charge of powder thats maximum for your gauge of barrels & a double charge of shot. you didn't say what gauge you have or your barrels condition.some guys recommend a double charge,double shot and a patched ball,your choice! i'd take the barrels out of the stock as to not dammage the wood if they don't hold. i stick the breech end in an old tire and lay the barrels over top,lay a 2x10 with a cement block over the tire on top of the barrels or an old fence post,what evers good and heavy,to hold them down. with that much recoil the barrels WILL fly right out of the tire! been there done that! as to your nipples, well i posted the same question a while back. i soaked mine in kerosene for over a week with no luck. don't no if yours are as bad or not. i wound up having togrind mine off and drill them out. i never tried heat,mebbe that will help you.i have been told to ring my barrels after proofing and listen for a dull sound. a better way is plug up the nipples good,fill up the barrels with vinegar and stand them in a corner over night. any hair crackes or pin holes will show wetness the next morning. i'm sure to take some flake on that one.all i can say is try it! make sure you wash them out good the next day.
