I would say you would need 4 quarts to make up a Gallyon.

Thanks for the info Captjoel. Now, if I want to get a sidearm companion for that gun should I get liter or a pint?

A 1 oz slug seems a little small for a .70 caliber. I'd think it would be 600+ grains.

Hi. I live in Spain and I have the Gallyon cylindrical shotgun, without choke. Shoot very well bullets of 0.690 and 0.710 with cotton patch and 62 grains of Swiss black powder No. 3, 2 FFg. Greetings.

The gallyon shotgun is the same gun as the Euroarms magnum Cape gun that was sold years ago and is made by investarms. They are still being made but are not imported to North America there is even a version with a 45 cal barrel. These are a quality gun not cheap junk and the euroarms Cape guns have been well sought after for years.I have one and love it though it.

I was just visualizing a .69 round ball stretched out. I've shot slugs out of a modern 12ga but haven't held one of the slugs. There must be a lot of hollowed out parts to it?

There is a large hollowed rear yes.

That may be. But fit and finish is well above any CVA Trapper I've ever seen. Did Investarms make the Trapper?

According to your pictures,
NOTE: The I inside the box on the top/right flat at the breach, This shotgun (what looks like a Mortimer) was made by Investarms.
