Just the Eastern Coyotes around here. They were singing the past few nights, weather getting colder, University of Maine,(Orono) did DNA to prove the cross between the Western Coyote and the Wolf,,they did/do cross breed and have. They have had/having a big negative impact on all the game in our area.Everytime I see one I do my part to tip the balance, one ate Jake, should not have done that,Jake was my buddy.

Stripping out my garden to day, most all harvested two days ago, just Kale and Chard left some beet root, deer got the tops,,paying it forward !!!!

Always liked home made Horse Radish Sauce,,great for opening up a plugged head/sinus blockage.Rough if made inside !!!

Inside we've had pretty good luck inside with small batches if made in a food processor or blender with the lid on tight.

I number of years ago we made a huge batch with an old hand crank food grinder like grandma used. We did it in the garage with all the doors open and we still all ended up crying and had to take turns on the crank. There were 4 of us.

Speaking of Fall gardens & "good chow", I talked to a local Tejano fellow last night by phone & who shared his G-G-GM's recipe for CALDO VERDE (Green Soup) with me.
(Their family has been enjoying that family recipe, mostly in the Fall & Winter, for well over a Century.)

With buying a new (well new to us) house this year and some health issues, I was unable to grow. Man I sure was able to stock up on seeds though! I have so many seeds of all kinds of stuff that it just isn't funny. I'm going to try my hand at growing a couple super hot chilis this year so I can ferment my own sauce and dry some yup to make a few powders for dry rub.

I'll be planting indoors in December and most of my 9 and 10 month fruit givers (mainly hot peppers) will be ready to go out side by end of April or no later than mothers day.

I'm hoping for a great year. On a side note, not sure if there are any seed traders in here or not but I have LOADS of seeds and some I will never use. If there are any traders hit me up.

Take care guys and happy gardening!

I may be Irish & a gardener... But I'm no Irish Gardener. I think I planted 12 potatoes and harvested about 30 of which I managed to stab 8 or 10 with the garden fork  If I had a rifle that was as accurate at hitting things I can't see as my garden fork is...I would be a trick shooter!

Been growing a garden since about 10 yo. Always average to super. This year planted 20 hills of potatoes as usual and got almost nothing. Coming up looked very unusual and finished with about 5 or six 2 inchers in the hill. Go figure ??????

Last summer I spotted a gopher hole under one of my potato plants and later I spotted him raiding. I eased down to the garden and waited (not long) for him to stick his head out And shot him right between the eyes at the whopping distance of 18-----inches. Is that stalking or what?
