First batch of sweet basil dried and chopped. Second batch in the dehydrator. I should fill my little jar today. The sweet smell of fresh basil fills my kitchen. Fresh herbs and store bought there is no comparison.

I started these. Tomatoe and a pepper..

I wasn't sure but I think I like the K cup idea I used.

Going to move them to a solo cup now.

use to use a small wood boxes to start them in a row to pick out.. Then when there 4 leaves or so big I transplant into a cup.

Picking & processing continues. Picked another 5 lbs of Aronia Berries today, they get frozen to be processed later. 2 containers of Black Berries picked & frozen. Plumb work continues, filled the dehydrator with one batch and pitted & froze 10 pounds.

I grew up believing Elderberries was good for the immune system as well, along with raw honey. I don't catch the flu nor have I had the covid. Wine is a great way to save the berries benefits for years. When all your berry crop ripens at one time making it into wine keeps it from being wasted. A barrel of wine does more good than a church full of saints.

Heck yeah. And sometimes feeling good is good enough 🤣

Garden is winding down, zucchini is played out, one cucumber plant left. Still getting some tomatoes, so I figured I would enjoy some still warm from the sun.

Update on the 55 gal. barrel w/both ends cut out , dirt , and three three inch fruit size tomato plants. Since 1st week of Aug. , this shindig has given 18 nice big sandwich type ripe tomato's. The vines are near 6' staked and fortified w/hemp twine to hold the vines from breaking with the weight of 20 more green tomato's. This plantation survived the Debby storm , three 3" , a 5" , and strong winds w/o damage. I'm amazed. I had an attack of 6 tomato horn worms while I was away for a week. Some kind of a wasp came by and layed white , sorta like magots on the worms. The parasites put a hurting on the worms , and they did little damage. All is well. Crop success was no doubtdue to answered prayer. T
