Here here RusT, any way I now what a soft lead ball can do  and I love to see the crowd at a pheasant shoot when I produce a M/L shotty. Shaking heads, tut tuting and scoffing behind my back. I just think how they are enslaved to the popular trend and dare not step out of line, exactly what line I do not know.
Usually at the end of the day a few rewarding comments are made my way, in fact one gent asked if I could load some BP cartridges for an old doulble that he would like to use and was amazed to see modern super tough pheasants come down so effectivly!
I do hope our freind gets his gun working properly as they are simple really, I sure wish we had turkey strutting around here.
Just aquired another cannada goose shoot wich will favour a M/L
:hatsoff:

It's not just in your land my friend...we have it right here too...people get into a comfort zone doing things one way, come to believe it's basically THE way, and if someone comes along with an idea outside the box, it causes all sorts of huffing and ruffled feathers...kind of like the general reaction to even THINKING that man could break the 4 minute mile...now a runner won't even qualify unless he can...it's just human nature and it's everywhere...simply exists in different degrees in different countries usually due to the age of a country, population, and heritage.
