Well, I have never really liked that Hege. Besides, jolly good shooting with that Japanese musket :imo: :master:
Welcome to the Forum. Dont forget to introduce yourself at "Welcome". :peace:
Havent I seen your face before? :hmm:

Wow! That's outstanding accuracy! Especially considering the following: no rest to shoot from, a smoothbore (I assume) matchlock with no buttstock (I believe the Japanese guns were fired from the cheek), and 50m distance! Sweet!

P.S.
By the way, when are you going to change to metric over there? (Just kidding)
Arilar, I may be one of the few Americans on the Forum who agrees with you! I am a proud American, but not too proud to realize a superior measurement system when I see one! I just about went crazy back in school trying to learn to multiply and divide fractions! Trust me, folks! Working with the metric system is a s--tload easier that what we currently use!

Have I said that! ::Well, I tell you a secret. Dont mention it to anybody else. Yesterday a went to a timber-yard. Needed deal for redecorating my armoury ::.At the timber-yard, for unknown reasons, they still use the old inch-system :curse: In Sweden carpenters rule has scale for both metrics AND inch
By the way, the above showed target hit by bullets from Blackpowders smoothbore Japanese musket, is the common picture when that man is involved in target shooting. No matter what gun he is using.
BUT I WILL WASH OUT THAT GRIN ON HIS FACE WITH MY ARTAX MATCHLOCKRIFLE WHEN WE MEET AT THE SWEDISH CHAMP NEXT YEAR!(Well, I will try anyway. But dont tell this to Blackpowder) :)
ARILAR :: :thumbsup:

Blackpowder,
nice shooting------ several members here from sweden-----maybe you can hook up with them
snake-eyes :peace: :) :)

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you!

Can you give a few details about your Japanese musket? Do you know exactly how old it is? What caliber is it?

I admire your confidence! :: I don't think I'd want to compete against a guy who shoots as well as Blackpowder! :shocking: :: Of course, he may try to cheat and put up his target at 50 yds., while the rest of you are shooting at 50m (50yds=45.72m)! ::

Thanks for all of your nice replies!
I was also shooting with my japanese matchlock at the world championships in Batesville USA this year, got 3 medals with it! I was talking to some folks there trying to find out more information about my old gun, did not get much information, most likely it is a military style rifle with no brass inlays in the stock, there is some engraving on the barrel, some claimed it to be from the 1650 - 1700 period. The caliber is about .56" and I shoot it with a .550" ball
Arilar I'm always ready for a match! and if you beat me I will be the first one to congratulate you!
But to be honest it is not quite fair to compete against your Artax, they are not from the same planet!!!
It is impressive to experience how fast these ropeburners ignite! almost better than the flintlock musket, atleast the rifle are not disturbed by a heavy hammer slamming down..

Good Shootin!
