Sometimes the edges of a barrel inlet need a tiny bit of relieving as we finish the inletting. Just too tight, and we don’t want to have to pry a barrel out of a forestock. It can be challenging to take a tiny bit out from the high spots and keep the sides of the inlet square and clean. Today it occurred to me that a jig for filing the tops of chainsaw bars to even and square them, might work. Bingo. It works very nicely.
