Well I hope that GOEX doesn’t become just a military production only facility. But it is worrisome if the military are footing the lions share of costs to get the plant up and running again. It would be really great if they do sell to our black powder community again. Anyway it is good news no matter.
And the black powder shooting community needs to understand that it is NOT the largest consumer by far. The military and industry are. We, with our stinky smokey guns, are a very minor part of that picture. And no, the military doesn't use black powder in guns, it is a critical component in many, many other applications. As such, it is a strategic industry that national security dictates there be a domestic producer. Worrisome? Not hardly, I'd be far more concerned if domestic production was completely halted. Economics being what it is, a domestic producer isn't going to sit on any excess and if there's money to be made selling to us, then after Uncle Sugar is satisfied, we'll be next in line.
