Don’t doubt what you say, but if you want some today, who has it and what does it cost?Old Eynsford is an awesome powder
I love it for .58 rifles. Shooting 60-70+ Minies in an afternoon, no cleaning, no problem. Accuracy is always good

Shoot and don’t look back. I personally find it dirty than Swiss and the old Goex, but that is just me and my opinion. Plenty of folks love and shoot Scheutzen every day. As far as confusion, Wano manufacturers both Swiss and the Scheutzen blackpowder powder for sale in the US.Ok so being brand new I was confused on what I have. I actually have Scheutzen powder, which I assumed was Swiss, but looking at their website I see they have both Swiss and Scheutzen, man this stuff gets confusing.
Why I am all in on Swiss. Down the road, who knows how well the next iteration of Goex will work out. I still have cans of DuPont and other older powders I hold on to just to compare to any current powders or old published performance data. It's unobtanium
And I'm holding on to my OE stash like gold
It's a prime example of "you don't know what you got till it's gone".....one day I ordered my last 25lb case of OE and didn't even know it
I just fired some 2 days ago, I took the time to breathe in some of that smoke because once I'm out, I'm out
I have heard that Elephant was filthy powder . I think I remember seeing it for sale in the early 90sWhy I am all in on Swiss. If you want something real dirty, try some old Elephant powder. Believe they left the bark on the trees and tossed the root ball with all the dirt and rocks attached into the wood chipper when they were making their ‘proprietary’ charcoal for their powder mix.
I'm also not going to see Pyrodex or T7 on the shelf at a sporting goods store and not buy a bottleI waited and waited for Old Eynsford to come back on the market. In the end, with three pounds left on the shelf and no more in sight, I ordered ten pounds of 3f Swiss from Graf's when it showed up on their website. Most likely it will last me the rest of my life unless I get to do much more shooting than I'd planned on.
I'm going to start using the last of my OE in my side-hammer guns and flintlock, save the Pyrodex for my revolver and the T7 for my one and only inline.
but will support our new shooters ?Yes, but when Goex comes back on line, I prefer supporting American businesses.
I don't know, new owners.but will support our new shooters ?
One hand washes the other.

I'm dumbing this down a bit so bear with me.Ok so being brand new I was confused on what I have. I actually have Scheutzen powder, which I assumed was Swiss, but looking at their website I see they have both Swiss and Scheutzen, man this stuff gets confusing.
I shot Goex for years before I tried Swiss. I was not at all disappointed with Goex. Swiss is more energetic though, and cleaner burning. I probably have enough Swiss to last the rest of my life. I'm still rooting for Goex's success, and would like to think the new owners will have a better product.I'm dumbing this down a bit so bear with me.
Swiss and Sheutzen are basically the same company. Swiss is a highly energetic BP made in Switzerland. Sheutzen is a 'low' energetic BP made in Germany. Sheutzen is very comparable to the previously USA made 'plain' Goex. Similar pressures, velocities, and fouling. Swiss and Goex Olde Eynsford are roughly similar in pressure, velocity, and fouling.
The Sheutzen powder you currently have in comparable to the old Goex, NOT Swiss.
This is not a bad thing.
I sincerely hope you are correct. I hope Estes brings a truly world class powder to the market and is wildly successful. I just could not wait any longer for the new Goex to come fruition.I shot Goex for years before I tried Swiss. I was not at all disappointed with Goex. Yes, the shut down was because of yet another accident. Then Hogdon decided to divest themselves of the brand. It's definitely coming back, just a matter of timing. The Dept. of Defense deemed domestic 'production of propellants' to be a critical national resource, and last summer they invested millions into Estes to get it up and running again.
Goex is absolutely coming.
Something the article below said was new to me...that the shutdown was because of some sort of accident, and not because Hodgson simply decided to shut it down for business reasons.
