I have been in the shop every weekday since Feb 1 feverishly filing out shotgun parts, finding tools, sorting, and trying to make some sense out of my mess out there. Missed the news about the buyout; this seems the perfect solution to our black powder woes. Estes rockets seems to be able to skirt the negative press with their products, so perhaps supply will be plentiful and uninterrupted. God bless them in their endeavors.

I do hope Goex supports some sort of youth muzzleloading projects in the future but to be perfectly honest I wouldn’t fault them at all if they bypass you and work with someone else, so far you’ve bad mouthed the company name on multiple forums and you’ve basically come off as a demanding, pompous *** to put it politely, hopefully they can see around you and see the good they can accomplish, just my 2c.

If Swiss is supporting you in such fine fashion, why are you bashing Goex and begging for powder? There must be more to the story that you are not telling. Is Swiss cutting you off?

Bashing a company on a public forum is not the way to gain support for the youth. Essentially you are hold Goex hostage to gain support for your local youth. Let their parents support their children if shooting is so important..
This reminds me of free breakfast at school.

If I was Goex, I would tell you go suck a rope and keep begging Swiss. Donating a lot of powder to you is not going to further their bottom line as they begin a new venture.

I used to shoot Old Eynsford exclusively in competition. That is, until I became a youth shooting sports instructor and found that Goex didn't support black powder youth shooting sports. In our first year of working with kids, we had over 375 kids go through and I personally worked with 79 on safety and marksmanship. Goex was MIA as a sponsor or supporter and refused to acknowledge emails or phone calls. Schuetzen was not MIA, in fact, they provided both powder and caps. From that time forward, I've shot only Swiss and Schuetzen in both competition and instruction.

In the future, I would like to see Estes provide support to black powder youth shooting sports with Goex powder. We're currently gearing back up for next summer and certifying more instructors. It would be great to have Estes support in this youth education effort.

There may be others on this and other forums who blindly worship at the altar of Goex, but unless and until Goex supports black powder youth shooting directly, they will not be in my powder magazine, nor on my instruction range, nor anywhere in my educational materials for young shooters. I do not hide the fact that Goex powder is available, nor do I hide the fact that Goex doesn't provide any material support either.

I would welcome the opportunity to open a dialogue with Estes to correct this issue.

Powder is powder gents. My favorite brand of black powder, primers, percussion caps, bullets etc. are the ones that I can get my hands on. I grew up in a very well stocked America, and shortages of anything really get my undies in a bunch. COVID. tornadoes, snow storms, fire and all that, we just need to knuckle down, get producing and going forward IMO.

The fact that you are a grown "man" that is supposed to be leading and influencing our youth and are still whining and crying about this is what bothers me.
The current owners of Goex, their board of directors, and their management,
have nothing to do with the former company denying your request.
If you approached then in the manner you have displayed yourself here, it is no wonder they denied you.

If these youth organizations need money for what ever, what is stopping them from organizing fund raisers like we did in Boy Scouts years ago for gear and helping some kids with camp money. Everybody got lazy I guess. Most companies will help but we got the most out of fund raisers.
