Copper is usually more visible than gold. An old IndianHead penny is pure copper and makes a great sight blade.
Respectfully I disagree, copper tarnishes and becomes dull over time whereas gold never does.Copper is usually more visible than gold. An old IndianHead penny is pure copper and makes a great sight blade.
Quinn The Eskimo coming to AZ at this time of year? Yikes!I solder gold all the time but I’m soldering it to gold, I don’t know anything about soldering gold to iron.
I could probably try it on an iron sight I’ve got kicking around but it won’t be until next week because I’m leaving for Arizona tomorrow.
Might have a better time putting gold on copper than iron/steel.Respectfully I disagree, copper tarnishes and becomes dull over time whereas gold never does.
I could do it for a picture of Andrew Jackson which would include shipping.a range of how much $ ???
A little maintenance and cleaning will solve the tarnish issues...Clean copper is much easier for the human eye to see.Respectfully I disagree, copper tarnishes and becomes dull over time whereas gold never does.

The sights I have done are an assortment of used and abused with various profiles and thicknesses. Best to send one you know fits and is of the desired dimensions. I'll PM regarding where to send.
Just have your's painted gold at a Jewelers problem solved you're welcome. Was at a walk-about at a local sportsman club and saw a front sight tipped with gold!
An older gentleman had the very top front of his sight covered in gold by a dentist friend of his. The amazing thing was no matter where he set that gun down that sight was HIGHLY visible from any angle!
Does anyone know of a sight like this for sale?
