I shure wish some times that I lived in warmer climes. but thats the throw of the dice. Glad to here every one that got out had a good time. I'm going to have to build a range that I can soot from my work shop next to the wood stove but not to close. By the way it's -30 here at 7:30 am so about -22F. nice t6o be working inside today. It is a Great hobby!I never had to swab the barrell once in 15 shots. No humidity here now I guess. How about you you need to patch between shots? If it's humid things must be getting grimey by the 50th shot?
Humidity rises and falls here about the same as there, differing in degree probably...late spring and summer the humidity in the Carolinas is 70%-90% range...July & August days can have temps & humidity both equal up in the high 90's...when it's that humid I never wipe between shots as everything stays so wet, seating the borebutter patch wipes the bore clean each time.

Same thing in low humidity...only difference is I use Hoppe's N09 BP Plus as a patch lube during the dry months because it's more of a liquid for those dry conditions, and don't wipe between shots with it either...two range trips this weekend in low humidity, 50 shots each and no wiping until ready to drive home.

Fisher King,
You got much snow up there this year? We've only had a Dusting or two here in the Southern end of NS.Other than some Bitter Cold we could comfortably shoot outdoors almost any day.

Hi Yes we got a dumping of snow this weakend about a foot and a half so on the ground compressed we have about two and ahalf to three feet lots of snow inthe trees. Makes for bad hunting snow down your neck when you are scroching around the hemmlocks and other evergreens that the rabitts like to hide around. Got shooting though this weekend , brought the ml out to a buddies hunt camp( the anual frickesied f up) lots of wild game from Elk, moose, duck,a fine venesion roast and a lot of hunting bull going on. Anyway brought the Ml along and a lot of the guys took shots and were suprized at the acuracy and hitting power of the patchted round ball, I think I made some more converts. Hopefuly we get a ML season up here. Back to the question yes we have snow here now late start to skidoo season but it's here. Have a great week Dave T.
