Used from October Country. Maybe not the deal of the century, but it was available, I wanted it and now it's mine. My phone takes crappy pics, but pics are required.

I assume it says 'New Englander on the barrel and not 'Grey Hawk or Silver Hawk? They would have a bright barrel. If it is a New Englander look at the serial number on the top of the bolster. If it has a K at the beginning of it then it's a kit gun. if not, someone just removed the finish for whatever reason.
 
No "K" in the SN. I think it looks good with the bare barreled. It reminds me a lot of the target gray color finish that Ruger uses. What's the purpose of the small screw at the breech end ahead of the tang? Clean out screw? Thanks for the interest and assistance.
 
The screw hole on top of the breechplug was used in conjunction with the rear sight holes to mount TC's proprietary scope mount so you didn't have to drill extra holes in the barrel
