Um, if Chris did as I did and followed that video link into Shanes photobucket account and looked through the pictures

OMG! :shocked2:

I'm going to have to go see what's marked as "public" in my account now. lol

The pics are deceiving. The sight isn't as high as it looks there. Still higher than originals, but not as towering as it looks there.

Thanks for all the good words guys. It's way better than my first one, but still a long way away from where I want to be.

I had to peek.....I just couldn't help myself. ...........................

Still, good work Shane! Enjoy, J.D.

P.s. Is building guns really more fun than using a motorcycle to herd cats???? :haha: :haha: :haha:

And yes, for me now it is. I find I get in way less trouble now too.

Take about 1/16 inch off your rear sight and see where you are on your target. You should be getting pretty close after removing about 1/16 inch. After that, you need to work up your best and most accurate load for your rifle. You want to determine your most accurate load before doing any final adjustments on your sight. Then it is just a matter of filing a small amount at a time and shooting at a target until you get it where you want it. :hatsoff:

there is no way we didn't take 1/16" off of the rear sight and the (pretty tight) group didn't move at all. He was still center punching it with every shot. I feel that this is going to be sight picture related, not sight related. I was just at a loss for what else to do.

C'mon Shane, I got guys telling me how to sight in a rifle as if I'd never done it before and now you are gonna play Marine and act like this Army guy can't shoot... :blah:

We'll get it. I do think it's just a matter of lowering the rear sight some more. There's plenty left there to work with. What a shame, I HAVE to actually go shoot more now. That's what I'm going to tell the wife anyhow. " ...But, babe, he can't put a rear sight on right so I have to burn more powder to get it shooting right...." :stir: :blah: :patriot:
