Sounds great! How hard is it to draw an elk tag in Colorado? Here in Nevada, they say while you could get drawn on the first year (not very likely) it could take upwards of 7 years through points to get drawn.

I didn’t get drawn last year (my first time applying). Hubby didn’t draw last year, nor this year. Some hunt units are harder to get into than others.

Depending on the unit you want, it could take 7 or more points.

I had 0 pts.. According to the last couple of years, I had about a 75% chance on my 1st choice. Got it.
In July there will be a leftover draw. Archers can always get an over the counter tag.

Depends on the Unit. I drew Colorado 3 times in a row, a ML Deer Doe tag and ML Cow Elk twice. We had good success on Deer but spotty on elk. Although I had opportunity every year. My nephew killed one the year after I stopped going with them.

I never drew a first draw tag in NV in 4 years that I lived here! One of the reasons I'm moving!!

It looks like I drew ML Deer and Rifle Cow in Colorado this year too!! We did not think we would draw the elk tag. Go figure. Unfortunately from Oregon I will not be able to do both.

If we did draw both I will most likely take the Deer Tag. Its $100 cheaper.

My nephew said They pulled the $$ from his account and we put in as a party but They have not pulled it from mine or sent me an email yet for the deer.

My not so tough decision between taking time off for a rendezvous or time for scouting for elk in the Sangre de Cristos. July up high scouting it is!

I drew either sex elk muzzleloader in unit 28, 37, 371 and antlered deer second rifle in 9, 19, 191. Then I'll do antlerless whitetail in Nebraska in January. Busy fall and winter ahead!!

That's a real bummer. Why not try for an out-of-state tag in New Mexico or Wyoming? Wyoming has lots of antelope tags available.

That's rough... Which units are you applying for? Need to stick in some low hanging fruit as second choices to see least get out there!
