A bow I purchased was delivered to the wrong address.

The USPS swore it was delivered to my home because their GPS tracker said it was. I asked if their GPS tracker was so precise that it knew the exact location of my front porch. They said it was good for an approximate location. I asked them how many square feet were in an approximate location. Of course they couldn't tell me.

Started knocking on neighbor's doors. Found it at a home two doors down. They had it for days knowing full well it was mine. I could see the shame in the eyes when she finally admitted she had it. No doubt she was going to sell it on-line or give it to someone.

Thieves. Thieves everywhere.

I often say that the world is full of deceit, treachery and thieves.
Here in Aussie land a common saying was "theyd steal the Eye out of a Needle".

I remember reading and seeing photos of a beautiful Shiloh Sharps rifle that had been opened and looked like it had ben dragged down the highway for a mile or more. Someone apparently opened it and used a grinder on it.

This past Christmas I had a very large Black Grouper my Wife had caught mounted. The fish was 52” long and came in a crate that looked very close to the Kibler crate. It came from the east coast of Florida to the west coast of Florida so for us 1 day delivery. The box only had “Fragil” and “This side up” other than addresses on the outside. There was a peephole cut in the side of box and had been retapped and we always wondered why it was done but now makes pretty good sense. No damage but it did provide “Pucker Factor” since it came the week before Christmas and if it were marked there would have been no time to have it repaired.

When I woked at the airlines I made sure my crew handled guns and trophys with care. But as the old timers retired or got laid off, they hired the worst of the worst. One was so bad he could not find the gate so he parked two carts of bags in the back 40 just to get rid of them.
It is sad today and I could never work there again.
The way things are today where you do not have to work or know anything, just collect money from tax payers, why care? Burger flippers make more then I ever did.

Somebody sure wanted to know what was in there! If it was a modern arm, you never would have seen it again. I'd like to MAYBE ship a musket off for de-farb, but am leery even thought I can have it crated. In fact I will ask the de-farb company for any "tips" about shipping.

Deafen: I went to an event he was at and gave it to him. Then when done, he was close to me (2 hours) and I met him again. Last gun, ups left leaning against door. If It’s a gun, I’d have go to my local gun shop.

I forgot to say: a really good idea is to secret an Apple air tag (or equivalent) on the gun (in the patchbox, etc.) add the price ($30 or so) to the gun’s shipping and tell the person receiving the gun, that you’ll refund the charge for it when they mail the tag back to you. Annoying, but more secure.

I was told by a postal employee that any mail delivered to us erroneously must be returned to them. Finishing the delivery to the proper place is illegal. (According to my source)

Perhaps, instead of having a gun shipped to your house have it shipped to a gun store. I did that when I bought a Pedersoli, Hawken a year ago. (I didn't want my wife t see it.) Even if they charge you a transfer fee it is better than some of the manure that has been going on.

I have worked at UPS and the USPS. The majority of folks there are decent, hard working and conscientious. When you do get the occasional misfit and disaster, report it right away with as much documentation as you can as soon as you can. I got a damaged custom made bow sent back from a customer. There were obvious U.S. Postal jeep tire tracks on the package. If you don't file your complain within a certain deadline they won't act on a claim. Don't send anything without declaring its worth, getting insurance and a tracking number. It really sucks when damage and theft happens. It seems to be an increasing problem and I am hesitant to order by mail anymore.

I'm in Australia, generally we don't have the problems you guys are enduring there with shipping and postage.

I've just purchased a second hand in almost new condition TVM Virginia FL Rifle made some years ago from a good friend over there in the States, who's dropping it into another good friend in SC for shipping to me once I get the import approval done.

I'd appreciate any reliable advice about the best possible option for shipping out of SC (are the southern States more reliable ?) USPS or FEDEX; any other options that can be relied on ?

I was lucky, my SMR box sides were nearly broken through completely. I called Kibler’s in a panic, she asked me if I opened it. I stated no and she asked me to check it. When I removed the many screws, the box snapped in two, but I didn’t find any damage to the stock or barrel. I called her back and advised no issue. She did ask me to send pictures of the box.

The last two times I travelled by air to hunt USAIR had to buy me a new rifle case and pay for repairs to my rifles. Both times someone took a crowbar and pried the cases open on the sides, it was not TSA as the case had the proper TSA approved locks

The side of the box that was glued and stapled was open with marks that appeared to have been pried open. The box had packing tape around to kind of hold it together. Has anyone else had a similar experience. If you want to chastise me for accepting, don't start cause I just had a long drive and real tired. Just checking if anyone else experienced this.

I had very much same experience in the last 3 weeks with a colonial shipped to me. Looked like someone was trying to take a peek inside. I actually fixed the crate back up and used it to ship another rifle in a few days ago. I added glue and screws to the bottom.

I've bought 2 Kibler kits, both arrived in West Michigan in perfect condition, inside and out.

At this point i am totally amazed/shocked Kibler would ever think of shipping them via USPS??? I will never use USPS again for anything of value or over approx 21" long. Given basic shipping costs, Dimension and weight surcharges, High insurance cost, amateur/careless handling service, poor tracking and very questionable insurance payouts - i am done. USPS has trouble safely delivering small flat rate boxs much less a crate. My Fedex account has been closed long ago never to reopen. Only UPS is left, They are marginal but acceptable as they pay claims fast. Maybe a few dozen claims may change kiblers choice of carrier and spare his customers grief and worry.

Kibler’s shipping container is the best I’ve seen. They are good people to do business with. Shipping anything has gotten more risky since 2020. Of course a lot of things got broken then.

Just got my Woodsrunner in .45 with extra fancy stock. There was no damage to the box, but notice multiple tape wraps around it. Every picture up to this point shows no tape. One of the tape was partially unwrapped. I looked inside and found the cardboard box was opened, but nothing appears to be taken. More than likely it just popped open.

I must say this rifle what I been hoping for. Being 5 foot nothing, I found the SMR to be much too long for me, while light, even in .32, it is awkward to load and fire.

this stands up to the top of my chest, I can look down into the barrel. while being a. 45, it is a bit heavy for it slenderness. I am sure I will quickly get use to it.

That is really disappointing, but I'm glad nothing was missing or damaged. There are so many varying opinions on who to use for shipping long guns, but it mostly comes down, I think, to the individuals who actually handle your package. I had an issue almost 20 years ago with a gun shipped UPS, so it's kept me from using them until recently. I shipped and received long guns with USPS many times without ever having a problem. Most recently, however, my local post office wouldn't ship a gun (48-inch barrel) and the particular person I spoke with was not thrilled about the contents. LIke I said, I've never had an issue with anyone else at the post office so it was disappointing. In the end, they told me that I would need to ship UPS because of the size... so, I shipped that gun in my over engineered box via UPS and it arrived without issue. If I ship any more long guns, I'm not sure who I'll use...
