Wasn't sure where to ask this question so I put it here.

Seems to me that Lymans made a rifle in 45 cal. Is this correct?

From listening to some of our European members, Investarms does make a GPR in .45 for sale in Europe. I seem to remember a long time back that they did sell the Trade Rifle in .45 but that may just be my memory playing tricks with me.

I had one sleeved in .458 so I could use my cast lead .45-70 bullets in it. Completely aware that the nipple and breech aren't made for the "Gibbs" style loads, I am experimenting with 405 grain bullets with 70 grains of powder. So far, haven't tried it since it came back after a little tweaking. The original twist was 21 inches and my bullet was too short, 385 grains. Now it has a 24 twist. Soon as I get a chance, I'm going to try it again.

Yes you are right! We have many of these .45 GPR here in Germany, but saddly no bigger cals like .50 or .54. I'm looking for a .54 perc. Maybe we can make a deal/exchange if you are interested in a .45 GPR.

They still make the GPR in .45, but not for here as mentioned. When I got my .54 GPR flint kit, the side of the box had a product code for a .45.

Yep,I have one.Has a very low 3 dig ser #.Thought it was only going to like Maxis till I tried .451 and .455 RB's.They show up every so often on the gun auction sites. They have a very distinctive patch box.

Good imfo all. I was talking with a fela muzzer the other day and he thought that they used to make them for here in the states.I expected ifin they did that they would be as hens teeth.

Good looking rifle! love that patch box. Did they make any with iron furniture?

Known as the "Plains Rifle".Most times they bring under $200.Gave $150 for mine.

I've only seen the Plains in brass, I watch the auction sites. Every once in awhile a GM .45 barrel will show up that will fit the GPR, with the 2 tenions and all.

The shown rifle is not a GPR, but a Investarm Hawken or Cabelas Hawken. The .45 GPR is in all parts similar to the .50 and .54. So no patchbox and no brass furniture! Price here is about € 350.
