So the lock on my Lyman GPR was loose and in tightening it I over did it and snapped the screw. Can anyone tell me what size and thread pitch I need to replace it with?

It's a metric screw. Don't remember what it was (changed more than one on my Trade Rifle).

Do remember they are 2 bucks from Lyman and come in the mail in a few days if you call and order.

Thanks... I may end up ordering a new complete lock. I tried taking it apart to get to, and remove the broken screw and I have since lost the plunger and am also unsure where another piece goes. I figure I'll order the parts I need and another complete lock. I'll use the complete lock without taking it apart) to figure out how to fix the one I broke.

An expensive lesson for sure, but one I won't forget.

TOW has replacement locks made for the GPR, these are made by L&R lock. May as well upgrade if you going to replace the lock.

Yep, I'll agree with garra completely in that if you are going the route of replacing your lock, get the L&R lock. While the GPR lock is a good one, the L&R is a superior lock.

An L&R replacement lock would require a small amount of wood removal to fit. I would not recommend replacing the lock at this point for a couple of reasons. First, although the L&R flintlock is considered better than the Lyman flinter due to its having better geometry, your Lyman percussion lock is every bit as good as the L&R. Second, diagrams of your Lyman lock showing all internal parts are readily available on the internet from Lyman and others and the parts are easily procured as well. Save the $140-150 towards your next gun. Just my $.02
