I ordered some powder 9lbs Goex and 1lb Graff 3f.Went to the the range today and the Graff lit slower than the Goex in my flintlock. Has anyone had the same experience? I bought the Graff to try something different and now im glad i only bought 1 lb and that i have a perc. gun to burn the rest up.

I buy Graf by the case. It is Wano Shuetzen same thing. It is a very good powder. It and Goex are about the same. Some shooters, me included fine it to be a little cleaner than Goex.
I don't know what kind of problem you are having. I use mostly Chambers W/L vents, Siler or Chambers locks. I shoot Goex also as well as KIK and Wano. I prime with Swiss Null-B and use Fuller BEFs. Maybe you just got a bad can of powder this is not the norm for Graf. :shake:

flint leather,
I'm with 'redwing' on this one...I've used
Graffs powder without any problem.Although
I currently use Goex it is just because it
is easier to come by locally. This is just
a suggestion but if you are using the 3fff
for prime, try grinding it up just a bit.See if it
makes a difference.
snake-eyes :hmm:

I've used Graf's w/no problem in the past. I ordered 1 lb. years ago with my Goex, and I replenished my supply couple months back with 1/2 Graf's. if anything it fouls less than Goex, can't tell any difference in power.

I'm priming with 4f Goex and i did notice the Graff burned a little cleaner than Goex but with equal main charges of Graff and Goex and equal priming amounts the Graff was slower to ignite.Goex ignites instantly.

I ordered some Grafs and Swiss last month, Grafs seems to be a excellent taget practice type powder, cheap and easy clean up, not too bad for fouling, I would order more if needed. The Swiss will be used for hunting, fouling is slightly harder then Goex, but velocity is slightly more then Goex.
In the flinters I used 4F goex priming powder and Grafs in the chamber, I did not notice nothing being slow, next time I will use some of the Grafs in the pan and see if theres much of a difference. For over 35 years I used Goex, I still would be using it, if it was like it used to be and everyone carried it for muzzleloader use. Times are a changing.
