This is the business end of the cutter. That is a chunk of Sako tool steel that Tom fashioned into a cutter. The cutter is shapped like a saw blade and is placed into a hickory rod turned down to just slip into a barrel. The steel on this barrell is 4150 and it is tough, tough stuff! We get our blanks from Ed Rayl. At first we had a darn hard time working that 4150 stuff, but Tom figured out how to cut a very smooth barrel. initially, as we would cut, the cutter would dull and start to tear the steel, not cut it. It's taken us a few tries to fugure out how to work with the stuff, thanks to Tom.

Some more guns on the wall. I'm always fascinated with the variety of guns that we concoct and create, it's simply amazing and I love just standing back and looking at everything....what a lucky guy I am!
