I have a Renegade that I picked up a Green Mountain drop in barrel for, but the under rib is about an 1/8” too long to the nose.
From the experienced lot here, is the best fix here to relieve the nose and give the rib enough room and seal it back up?

In your case I would grind or file that 1/8” off the rib. Someday in the future you might want to put a factory renegade barrel on that stock. That would allow you to do that without modifications.

General rule is to modify the least expensive component to fit. In this case the rib.
 
When I did an L&R lock swap on a Renegade, I had to move the barrel back to have the touch hole line up in the center of the pan. I cut off the under rib and removed the ramrod keeper spring to accomplish the barrel move. The spring is totally unnecessary anyway. The TC ramrod was junk (snaky and lots of runout) so I made a new one out of a great ramrod blank a friend had given me. I sanded my new ramrod to correctly fit the pipes, it will never fall out.
 
Like @Eric Krewson and others have suggested, shorten the underrib.

I encountered this same problem recently and maybe I'm a bit crude in my solutions, but I removed the screw and rod retainer, slid a piece of plastic between the barrel and rib to lift the rib away from the barrel and filed the extra away. The plastic also protected the barrel from my poor filing skills.

Big project, took about 15 minutes! 🤣
 
Look for a machine shop near you and have them remove a bit off of the rib where it makes contact with the stock. You can do it yourself with files and a Dremel tool but it won't look as nice.
 
I took off about 1/4" of the under rib, it was very easy to reshape the nub with small files and different grit of sandpaper to be just like the original, a little cold blue on the end and no one will ever know it has been cut off. I removed the under rib from the barrel to do this job, 3 or 4 little screws and it was off.
