Well, not far from the river anyway. My handle is "NativVirginian" but my friends call me Doc. Just found this Forum and I hope to absorb as much info as I can. My first "smoke wagon" was a stainless Ruger Old Army (still have it) and I have accumulated several more cap and ball pistols since. I favor the 2nd gen F series Colt Armies and Navies and the Pocket models also. Looking forward to spending some learning time here.

Welcome from Pa...............My current deer rifle is a direct copy of an original Johannas Faber . Faber was an early long rifle builder from the Charlottsville , Staunton , Va. area.

Howdy and Welcome from Texas!
My ancestors were in the Shenandoah Valley, Rockbridge County, while Sam Houston and his parents were there. I contend that our families were friends.
Not a big deal to some, but to Texans, it's a pretty good connection!

A namesake fought with the 1st Rockbridge Artillery, and died in combat in Winchester, Va.

As far as I know, he's the last of my family to die defending his country.
