Dave, I completely understand if you have too many orders. Thank you for taking the time to help me with this. It is most appreciated. Would you happen to have any recommendations on books or source material that focuses on this topic? All I have are a multitude of different books that happen to have pistols but the information is so much more limited than finding books on long rifles, fowlers, or varying military arms.

Mike, I have looked at the Pedersoli LePage and I'm sure it is good quality and I have only heard good things from Pedersoli. I'm just not wild about that particular pistol aesthetically. Its also a little late for the time period I'm wanting it to fit in.

I only included dueling/belt in the same sentence to denote non-dragoon pistols.

Thanks again!

Hello, BMS,

Dave Person suggested I check out your post, and mentioned me in his previous replies to your post. If you are interested, here is a link to a post on a different site with pictures of my most recent pistol build: http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=47427.0
I am not a professional builder, just a serious hobbyist, but I am recently retired and looking for some new projects. I'd consider building a pistol for you, either from scratch or possibly a kit modified with relief carving, engraving, etc. Let me know if you're interested!

Sorry, my last post didn't link properly to the site I intended. When I post the link, this site deletes the first part of the address. If you can get onto americanlongrifles .com, go to "ALR forum". then "Gun Building". On the second page, my topic is under "Circa 1700 burl-stocked horse pistol finished".
(I had to separate "americanlongrifles" and ".com" in this post because, for some reason, this site won't print the site name intact and changes it.)

Hi Gregg,
This forum does not allow links to other forums for whatever reason. Anyway, why not just post photos of your recent pistol. You should be able to do it the same way you do in that other forum or if you want, e-mail some photos and I will post them for you.

Thanks, Dave, I'll see if I can send the same pictures. The system here is a bit different from the ALR site, hope these go through!

EDIT:

Well, obviously that didn't work. I was sending these through the picture icon just above the text box. Any hints on how to do this properly?

My last post showed links to a few pictures of my pistol, but I couldn't figure out how to just post the pictures without going through the links. Hints? I have more pictures if anyone is interested.

Hi Gregg,
Open the photo in your imgbb account. Click on "embed codes" below the photo and then place your pointer on the address shown in "BBcode" in the section for full images. The word copy will appear and click on it. Then simply paste it into your reply screen on the forum.

Hello Gregg!

Apologies for my late reply. Been a bit busy as of late.

That pistol is absolutely beautiful and the lines are right along what I'm looking for!

Simply stunning.

I am definitely interested in working with you!

Dave: Fantastic looking cased set of dueling pistols !!!
Greg: Beautiful mid-18th Century style pistol !! Note how the frizzen sits forward a bit further than later pistols. Love it.

As mentioned above, all these pistols seem almost too nice to shoot. :haha:

ByMySword: You might consider one of those European pistol kits from Muzzle Loader Builders Supply and have Greg assemble it for you.
