This is the fact of the matter for hunting, those who have a true desire for the sport of shooting/hunting with ML's will find a way to have a nice ML, trad.style for under 700 bucks or so just like the guys who are really into dirt bikes, snowmobiles and all the other boy toys, and a custom high dollar ML gun is a one of a kind,as much art as tool if well researched, particularly if made by a notable builder, this has always been the case with any art/craft.
 
I look at it another way, every year I go to the Kalamazoo living history show and every year the place is packed, this year the hotel is sold out.

I've had a gun shop for 20 years now and I remember one thing my Dad told me when I started....
he said when customers ask how business is, tell them GREAT even if it's not.
well twenty years later I'm still telling them it's great and it has been, let's focus on getting more people into our hobby and not gripe about the negative, remember you can catch more flys with hunny then vinager... or something like that.
