And I'll add this too...

Keep track of any house keys left in the home.

If they get in and take only a few small things -- if they find a key, you can bet they WILL BE BACK later.

Change the locks and add some of those things I'd mentioned above.

Old No7
Set a couple of "fake" Claymoors in plain sight, rigged for trip wire to the safe, pull the safety pins and leave with peace of mind. No one with even half a brain would test to see if it were real !

plant cheap non-functioning guns within easy reach un-safed (or un-RSC'd) and leave a few $20 or $50 bills lying around within easy view and reach for a quick grab (that will limit the damage they may do), etc.

But the main thing is this...
If they WANT to get in -- they WILL get in -- so just make it so d*mned difficult that they move on to someone or someplace else.
Yep,
My daddy always said leave the robber something to take. Keeps him from getting frustrated and taking it out on the property and gets them out of the house faster.
I got a couple of P.O.S. easy to find pieces in the house. :) And the serial numbers written down. Might be worthless guns....but it is still a felony to take them. ;)
