Not passing fast en

then that would be the first!!

Tell ya what.... If you come and can't find a good deal on my table.... I'll refund your admission fees!

We don't have 1990s prices, but we usually sell 15-30 antique firearms per show. Which is really high compared to other vendor's...so we must have them priced right!

Went to a gun show a ways away from me with a friend. The cheapest cap and ball revolver, a brass frame CVA 36 navy, loose and rattling-$375!! ONE tin of no. 10 caps- $35!! I saw three ruger old army’s- $800, $950,$1000!! Strangely enough, I snagged a unopened tin of rws musket caps for $10 a old fellow brought in to sell. Now the long guns , muzzleloaders that is, had fair enough prices. My friend got an new in box Thompson center Pennsylvania hunter for $400. Strange.

I did gun shows in my early years. Took some goodies from the closet and traded, bought and sold. There was always those who were there to get the little lady that just lost her husband for all she had. But a few of us watched for that and informed those people as to what their stuff was really worth. Those who take advantage of others will not sleep well as my mother would say.

The only shows I attend anymore are those that advertises 1890 and older items is all that is for sale. I don't want see plastic guns either. I attended one last weekend in Ohio that was like that. Reasonably priced guns and accessories. It was enjoyable.
the last on i attend was in new orleans,,that was enjoyable for a day,,the one in baton rouge is crappie

For those of us who are old farts we know all about the huge decline in the value of ticket price, of going to gun shows.

You can get plastic at the corner bar.

If you show me a good quality percussion revolver at a reasonable price then we can talk. If anybody has one.

I have my magazine full. Don't need a gun show for ammunition.
I go. Look around. Keep my mouth shut. Especially if I happen to see something I want. If I do I come back late Sunday. If it is still there. Make my offer. Maybe dicker a little.
Sometimes a score. Sometimes not.
Every year, see less and less that I want.

Henry, you need to go to some of the more quality shows th a limit and police what's on the tables. There are still a lot around, antique and contemporary.

Most likely that is going to be the case for all in the industry.

Hornady's back log will affect the mold manufactures and folks looking for lead and it's price.

Hi all
I am a collector in the UK and I have an RFD ( = FFL) and Home Office ( = our State Dept) Authority for Prohibited Weapons. I used to spend a lot of time in the USA - particularly Taxachusetts (someone had to pay for Teddy K's drink bill!) going to shows. For many years I had a table at the Baltimore Show and the Jan Vegas Show, mainly buying English Revolvers. Sadly at present it looks as if getting in and out of the USA is getting harder -- - even with "antique" firearms.

In the UK many of the older shooters are not renewing their licences -- to be honest most went to the range for the "crack" (chat) rather than the "bang", and when ranges closed due to Covid they became dispirited. Due to changes in our firearms laws NOW they are having to pay for renewing their Firearm Certificate (used to be free but now the best part of $80) PLUS they have to get a Doctor's Certificate and some of the medicos are charging well over $100. RESULT -- lots of firearms coming onto the market and the prices are falling. It is hard to sell a used M1851 repro in VG condition for $50 ;-(((((

Recently one of my specialist gunsmiths died and I had promised him that "I would be there when the time came". Most of what he had was ML revolvers -- several 3rd Gens and some boxed Ubertis - almost all unused.
In the Old Days (!!!) I would have put them on my table to do deals for originals for my personal collection. I know that they would fetch good money for the family if sold in the USA but getting them exported is very costly and then some "jobsworths" insist that as they are for SALE they have to be imported by a Broker -- - MORE cost.

That is REALLY frustrating. Last time I got to the Jan Vegas Show (2019) the Customs man got difficult over my personal cased revolvers because they were "for sale". Luckily the senior ranking agent was an NRA Member, so he over-ruled his inferior (It just might have been helpful that I am a VP of our NRA) but it certainly looks as if the future is not promising.

Keep up your traditions please -- we are being pushed out by the "woke" attitude --- and ML owners are tarred with the brush of the criminals using automatic weapons, because we are an easy law-abiding target.

One of these days I do hope to get back to the "Land of the Free"

buy now fells as it is only going too get worse, Inflation, 2nd amendment challenges, and the move too dis-arm the U.S. nothing is safe. Also if you believe the shortages are caused bye hoarders best wake up, its not there and it is not going too be there. The statement about a two year catch up tells me the producing companies are cutting back or not producing the required items, they perhaps see the writing on the wall and do not want too be stuck with a bunch of product that has too be destroyed because of regulation changes. Follow the big marketers of shooting related items for what ever you shoot used too be back order now no orders. I do not care if you shoot strictly muzzle loaders or un- mentionable nothing is safe.
