"H Richard" - Gun Builder info wanted

I thought I'd try this question here..

Anyone hear of "H Richard" as a gunbuilder? I can't find any info online. I've bought one his guns. (A Dickert Early Lancaster style flinter). Any help would be appreciated.

I bought a custom gun, from Log Cabin Supply in Lodi, Ohio that was made by Richard Hergina. He is retried now. They said he made 700 guns. He was in that area. They had him make this gun and sold it and got it back and I bought it in 07. Might be same man? Dilly

Thanks Liddy. I'll check with Log Cabin to see what they know. 700 custom guns in a lifetime is alot! I'm curious how he signed them. I'm waiting on the delivery of my gun (or better pics at least) to see. I'm just hoping I can trace a history on it. - Don

My gun is not signed that I can see. I had the lock out it is a Davis. Have't removed the barrel, a .45 1-60 42inch Green Mt. Stock is nice curly maple. The set trigger is finest I ever set. Lock hits frizzen almost at the top and has a smooth surface the whole length. Lots of brass.Well made gun. I haven't even shot it yet. I sure it will shoot fine. Has a nice set of sights. I tried to fine out more about him, but all I know is what Log Cabin told me. I think it is a Lancaster? Dilly

Well disregard. Seems there were problems with the seller so I won't be getting this gun afterall. But thanks for your help ! - Don
