got a Derringer that has a good lock as far as I can tell. When I have it out of the gun and checking it out there is no issue. When it is set at half **** no problem. I can't set it off for nothing. Then when I put it back into the stock when I have it at half **** the trigger will trip it every time.

So....what gives?

C’Lee, Funny you mentioned this as it turned on my dim light bulb in my brain. There seems to be an imperfection in the lock channel that is allowing some wood to interfere with the lock. I used chalk to show where wood was interfering with the lock on a Zouave. If someone else will respond there is a carbon blue-black powder that is better than chalk but I can’t think of the name. Good luck.

I've had to remove wood from under locks several times with similar problems. There are numerous things you can put on the metal to tell where it is contacting the wood. Sometimes just a piece of paper put to fit inside will show indentations from having the lock put into place over it.

May not be wood interfering, may be the trigger bar is setting too high up when installed. A little filing on that would solve the problem.
