That 2" white circle is a lot bigger than the point of a diamond-shaped "sighter". I place my
sighter at the 6 o'clock position, but others find they get even better groups if they put the point at 12 o'clock, pointing down. They bring the front sight up to that point to fire.

Mostly, it depends on whether your front sight is black or blackened, or if its brassy or " white". You need the contrast between your front sight and the target for best shooting.

Pistol shooters leave a space UNDER the Bullseye, holding into the white part of the target below the Bullseye, about an inch, so that there is a standard "Gap" between the top of their black front sights, and the bottom of the bull. They find that if they leave a gap, they don't get vertical stringing, and the human eye can actually hold that " gap" fairly consistently.
