Haversack with Bark Tanned Flap and Folk Art “ Join or Die” motif
A new haversack style/forage bag I handmade, “inspired” by the late 18th and early 19th century hunting accoutrements. The distressed and aged body of the bag is made from plastic striped pillow ticking and fully lined with an interior double pocket. All hand-stitching done with natural linen and hemp beeswaxed thread. The flap is brain tanned deer leather with a hand painted folk art motif of Franklin’s “Join or Die” French and Indian War slogan. It is secured with a strap and brass vintage harness buckle.
The bag measures 11 x 13. The jute woven strap is 52” long and hand stenciled with a folk art pattern. This would make a wonderful addition for anyone into Muzzleloading…hunting…reenacting...or as a beautiful wall hanging decor.
