Been workin on this one off & on for over a year. Its forged from a 24 oz ball peen hammer head with a black locust handle thats stained antique maple with a snake thats all over the place on this one, it has a lightly file worked wrought iron cap, black leather cord wrap

Screws are perfectly acceptable to hold on the end cap of tomahawks as long as they are plain slotted - most existing originals that have a non-cast end cap, the end caps are held on by screws. Most ends caps will show up on eastern pipehawks of the late 1700's through the early 1800's. For those interested in seeing originals with caps will most likely have to refer to books and not just the internet - my books have several pictured originals with screws but a quick search on line didn't bring anything up right away although deeper digging might.
