Hawken Pistol

I've developed an interest in a Hawken Pistol to go along with my Hawken rifle. I like the Pecatonica River kit but am not sure I need another project to build myself. Can anyone suggest a source for a good quality gun? I emailed Pecatonica to see if they knew someone who would build one on contract and have heard nothing. Suggestions are welcome.

I purchased the Lyman Great Plains pistol but all that lawyerspeak stamped on the barrel kinda ruins it for me.

There aren't many builders in AZ. Mostly depends
on where you're located....

Don't know if you were planning to brown yours, but after browning my barrel you can't see the writing on it.

Yes, browning all but wiped out the writing on the barrel of a rifle I built a few years ago.

what browning process did you use? I have a barrel I would like to erase the writing from.

Steve, if you were asking me, the original poster, if I had found a Hawken pistol the answer is no. I have moved on but have been thinking about reviving my interest.

In fact, Dane, or smallpatch, who offered to help here has just delivered to me a spectacular George Schroyer rifle. I contacted him after this post about building the rifle and if I do go back to the Hawken pistol there is no doubt I will be talking to him about it.

I recommend him highly.
