Has anyone used the Hawken rear sight from L&R that has the ladder bar? This sight looks like it has a very large buck horn style rear blade. What I like about it is the elevation ladder that has 5 notches. It also looks like there is no notch in the rear blade so one would need to be filed in. My intentions are for adjusting the ladder notches for different distances beyond 100 yards for long range ball/gong shooting.
The hope is that it can be moved forward and backward quickly to adjust for elevation at various distances. My Winchester 30-30 had this type of adjustment and it adjusted well.
For those that have this sight set up; what's your opinion of them and how do you like it? Is a partridge front sight better for this type of sight or would a beaded sight work better?
