Heading out to hunt

Well, I am heading out to hunt black bear again with my boy. I will be taking my 1861 Cook and Brother 58 with 500 grain mini balls and my .54 short barrel Hawken. Fun times ahead will post pictures when I get back even if we don't get anything. I am grateful to have a boy to enjoy the outdoors with me.

You are so right ! My son is now 30 and we make it a point to shoot almost every Sunday. It has been a great pleasure in my life. It has given me many wonderful memories of our hunting and shooting together.

Well, no bear yet but we enjoyed every minute. It was so nice to camp and hike with my son. Here are a few pictures of out outing.

I 'Liked" your posts, but that doesn't do them justice. Beautiful country and a grand time that must have been. So glad you were able to enjoy the experience with family. That just makes it so much more. Thanks for sharing. This encourages me to push myself to do this more when the opportunity arises.

Mt. Adams, Mt. St Helens and Mt Hood? I'm up north a bit more, just west of Mt. Rainier. The bear that left that pile is still around, good luck hunting it.
