I recently broke the mainspring in my 45 cal Pedersoli Kentucky capper rifle and while waiting for a new one to arrive from the US. I went and got some heavy elastic bands 1/4 x 3 1/2". It took 2 of them doubled over and then hooked the ends over the hammer and drum. Worked like charm.
