Hey Wayne:
I made a some what simular vow last year when I put together a CVA mountain rifle kit last year. It had been laying around in another guys garage for some time then it was in my garage for some time till my son found it and bugged me about it. It's been an interesting adventure, we both got our first blackpowder deer this year. It's been fun. Hope ya get yours too.

Welcome Wayne.

Good for you. :applause: Double good for the smoothbore. :applause: I love and trust my muzzleloaders, but I am guilty of making sure there is meat in the freezer before I lug mine out in regular season.

I blame my wife. "You're not taking that old gun out on opening day, are you, fool? You bring me meat and then you can goof around." Anything with a hammer is an "old gun" in her vocabulary. It's not worth my hide to come home with a fired gun and an empty trunk due to some circumatance beyond my control. Certainly , I would never m-m-m-miss.

Wayne,
What part of Bama are you from? I'm 'bout 40 mi. NW of Tuscaloosa. Been shooting 3 years, got a lot to learn.
I've been reading this board for a while, don't see many from Bama.

Wayne: A Big Welcome To The Camp!!!
Glad you found us. And good luck in looking for those other BP rifles that you want to get. I have a T/C 54cal percussion rifle ( Hawkens ). Now I Have a T/C 50cal Flintlock ( Hawkens ). I'm looking forward to shooting that rifle. Then out to the woods to hone my skill with that rifle. Sounds like fun.
Again Wecome to the Camp, Mtn-Man2u :)
