Hello all, I am a lifelong shooter from upstate New York, if it shoots I own it, dreaming of owning it, planning to own it or I got rid of it already. Lifelong country boy, I work for my living, and consider the white smoke out of any of my smoke poles to be the only perfume a man needs. Other than firearms I have a couple of antique cars, I play with spring powered caustic phonographs, and I enjoy a good cigar. I am not much of a computer guy, barely know how to work the thing, and I am not online all that much, but I hope to be able to spend some time around here were people know that bullets were round before they were pointy.
I started with traditional firearms sometime around the Bicentennial, and my collection has grown some since.

I am barely computer literate, I have only had one since '05. I don't travel much on the internet so until the other day I didn't know there were any forums for traditional guns. Had I known about this place 10 years back ( I might have bought a computer earlier), or even in '05 it would have saved me a lot of time. I had to learn to shoot my flinters on my own. I did have the pedersoli, and MVTC how to manuals, but mostly I had to learn by trial and error. Big change going from my BP cartridge rifles and modern shooters to a smoothbore flinter, but I got the hang of it now to the point that I am mass producing musket balls to keep myself supplied. I just ordered one of MVTCo's ships carbines, and if that does not turn into a disaster I am considering the 1740 Potzdam Musket mostly because I like the looks of it, and I have a ever growing supply of .75 musket balls to use up. There is a lot of great information here and I have been sucking up as much of it as I can. I have a new rule this year, I will not be shooting any of my modern shooters unless I make the ammo myself, my supply's of ammo are worth enough now to buy some nice guns should I sell out and I will not use up another round. BP on the other hand is still affordable, I have it on hand, and about 500 pounds of soft lead not including the 60 pounds of musket balls I just cast these last few weekends. I just found a link right here on this forum to a nice possibles bag that I have been needing, and a new hat, the old on is a bit raggedy or so I am told.
The only smokeless rifle cartridge ammo I am currently loading is 8x50r Lebel, the big Bess, and my Harpers Ferry pistol are a lot more fun than my Lebel.
